15th ANNUAL NEW YEAR’S VISION BOARD PARTY

Make a beautiful collage vision board that represents your hopes and dreams for 2022 and taps into your intuition to see what this year might have in store. WARNING: These vision boards have made wild ambitions and hopes come true, and revealed enormous changes in store!

We will have posterboards, scissors, magazines, and glue. Bring your own magazines, collage supplies, a bottle of something or a snack. We’ll have some drinks and food. Donations suggested.

Bring a friend who’s into this sort of thing! Kids are welcome if they can respect the vibe of not talking in the main space during the jams. You’re invited to participate in music making and singing, or listening, while you create your vision board.

EGO FREE JAM

This is the 4th pairing of The Ego Free Jam and Anya’s Vision Board Party.
The jam is a night of improvisational music. Musicians and sound makers of all skill levels go on a co-creative journey, with emphasis placed on listening to and supporting each other. Allow for the magic to happen!

For those of you who are new to the experience, here’s the idea:

WHAT HAPPENS AT AN EGO FREE JAM?
Together we go on two improvisational music and sound making journeys, each lasting about 2 hours.

There are no audiences at an Ego Free Jam. We're all participants, even when we're just quietly enjoying the groove. Jams include musicians and sound makers of all experience levels. They are safe spaces where we explore our creativity and where we strive to support others in their explorations.

Dancing, stretching, and art making are welcome.

We'll start the evening off with a warm-up exercise where we express any resistance we have to letting go, and where we allow ourselves to be playful.

The Delight Factory space has two areas, the main area is for music making, the bar area is for breaks and conversations. There’s a back yard, too.

WHY ‘EGO FREE’?
The ego is the part of us that wants to keep us safe in the world and tries to make us NOT do something. It shows up as fear and embarrassment. When we get the urge to "do it right” out of the way, we can play, improvise, take a little risk, mess up, see that it didn't kill us, and feel the delight in that piece of freedom.

DO I NEED TO BE A MUSICIAN?
Not at all. You can pick up an instrument and improvise, vocalize, move your body, make something, or just listen.

WHAT TO BRING?
You are encouraged to bring an instrument, dancing body, art supplies, yoga mat, favorite toy, whatever inspires you and is fun for you. Or come as you are. We have percussion instruments, a piano, synthesizers, mics, & more

CAN I INVITE OTHERS?
Absolutely! Just let them know what to expect. And let us know if they want to be on the list for future jams.

CAN I COME FOR PART OF IT?
Sure! Try and come before the jam starts but you're welcome any time. Stay for however long or briefly you want!

- Claim space: Do a solo, stand out, be loud, and remember to stay connected, listen to the others, and step back when it’s time for someone else to claim space.
